The Awake Overnight must remain awake at all times when on duty. This staff member is in
charge of responding to emergencies according to prescribed guidelines.
This is a part-time position with benefits including health and dental coverage,
tuition reimbursement, sick and personal days, paid school recess breaks and retirement benefits.
We currently have the following schedule available: Sat-Mon & Thurs, 10pm-7am (36hrs).
- Attend to the direct care, medical and behavioral needs of students or clients in the residence.
- Make routine checks of all students and clients as specified in the schedule for the residence.
- Assist with lifting and transfers of students or clients in the residence.
- Maintain a quiet environment for the students or clients.
- Apply good judgment and effective problem solving skills in assisting with the management of the residence.
- Observe and report any physical or behavioral changes both orally and in writing in the log.
- Read records, observe students or clients, consult with the program staff and specialists to determine
capabilities, limitations and special needs of each student or client in the residence.
- Assist in performing routine tasks within the residence as assigned.
- Participate in assigned staff development and training and scheduled in-service trainings.
- Provide a setting that fosters a respectful attitude toward issues of human rights, confidentiality, and privacy.
- High School Diploma.
- One year of experience working with children or adults.
- Must be able to lift 70lbs.
Preference may be given to candidates with following qualification:
- Crisis Prevention and Physical Intervention Training (CPPI), First Aid/C.P.R.
(or willingness to obtain certifications)
- Coursework toward to Degree in Human Services
- Prior experience working with a special needs population
